Image
(For the full video check out YouTube Findmyflis:  https://youtu.be/H8ff1kbQp6k?si=Xq6qe-kTcWv32oi8 ) Walking through the streets of Italy and the UK, every corner takes you deeper, exploring different perspectives on a journey guided by Flis Zucchi's photo trail at Photomyway Photography, opening your senses with the delights of Schubert and Mozart that pianist Romeo Zucchi brings to life, and the culinary surprises and bursts of colour with Giovanna at Sicilia Qui, celebrating a community together, that cares.  A massive thanks to everyone who came to the event, to Giovanna and Andrea at Sicilia Qui, pianist Romeo Zucchi, Anthony Osborne from MoveandTune, and to all those who have been a part of this journey. Looking forward to seeing you all soon for our future events! Have a great summer and Findmyflis together with Photomyway Photography will be back again at the end of September for more motivating videos and content. RAISING THE ULTRA

Image
Visit Findmyflis YouTube to check out the full video: https://youtu.be/pZ_UCQQs020?si=hp8nC7Xcr7IhKWva “You can’t become a winner overnight, or even in a couple of years-it takes time…You will lose races and you will have to accept that, learn from it and believe that you’ll win the next one, knowing that you’ll probably lose that as well. All the time you have to keep believing that one day you will win.”  - Paula Radcliffe, former women’s marathon world record holder Beyond the start line, there is a space where an athlete puts into action their training, their mental strength, drawing on their experience and their failures, and all of this with the ultimate goal to feel the freedom before them, to experience the horizon opening up, to capture those seconds and frame them forever. It is a journey that has taken the necessary time, patience and knowledge to make it to the start. The question is, what will you do when you get there, when you go through your starting drill and step ...

TIME FOR A BREAK

Image
"Rest and be thankful." - William Wordsworth Sometimes we all need a break to recharge our batteries and to have a moment to breathe. This week my husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and we decided to take a few days and slow down. I am so grateful for that time with him and the last 10 years together. I recently lost my dad to cancer and my mum died just after I had finished my exams for my A' levels. It has made me realise how important it is to live and appreciate what you have whilst you can enjoy it. It is great to challenge yourself and have healthy goals, and it is also okay to take time to have fun in life and truly value those around you. Findmyflis will be back next week with more motivational content and until then, I wish you all a happy and enjoyable week. Thank you for your support.

BEYOND THE SHADOWS

Image
Findmyflis YouTube: https://youtu.be/URgiKEIVi70 “You are valuable simply because you exist. Not because of what you do or what you have done, but simply because you are.” – Max Lucado   We need to celebrate our achievements, celebrate the small, invisible steps that sometimes can seem as though they’re going nowhere, even celebrating when we fall but get up, and get stuck in again. Celebrating brings our goals alive and reminds of just how far we have come, and why we set out in the first place. It’s not about how good the achievements look to others, or how impressive they are, it’s about how they feel to you. If you’re moving forward in your journey today, that’s great! No one else can really measure your success from the outside, so keep taking the risks you feel are right, push those boundaries and enjoy how it feels to be at the stage where you are now, who you are now. Outstanding! Your journey is just getting started. Join us at findmyflis.blogspot.com for more ideas...

THE MISSING PIECES

Image
Follow the Findmyflis YouTube link to watch the full video of 'The Missing Pieces': https://youtu.be/KMuD8ZVJaIA?si=vZBiV5ddnD7zNzXx Never before had I seen anything like it in the beautiful underworld. A metal beam from the bottom trawler with a net attached stripped up everything in its path, fish and all types of amazing creatures, habitats and incredibly rich ecosystems, sparing nothing.  Even in protected waters this justified practice is going on. Wide enough to contain vast catches, these nets can cause a serious imbalance in the ecosystem with substantial amounts of carbon dioxide being released as a result of the destruction of the protection of these living organisms. They are endangering not only the ocean, but the earth and its inhabitants. As we all watched in horrified silence the scene with the bottom trawlers in “Ocean” the powerful and action-provoking documentary by David Attenborough, there was a unified shock and disgust by the disregard for the already prec...

THE MISSING PIECES...COMING SOON...

To find out how the rest of the pieces unravel, watch the full trailer at:  Findmyflis Youtube:    https://youtu.be/KzMpEuKKZZc?si=fgGAPf167DPqcbh0. “You will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” – John 8:32 How many times have the pieces failed to match up? You open the puzzle and start working though, only to find half way that you’re missing some of the most important pieces. Does that sound familiar?! Those seemingly insignificant parts suddenly hit you like stark gaps in an otherwise meaningful piece. It would be easier to discount them, but well, we can’t…as much as we try not to admit it, their absence unsettles us. We worked hard to put that large puzzle together and it was us all in it together. Accepting the gaps would be accepting our missing the goal… Trying to smooth over the missing pieces is futile, we only end up seeing them more. If we can accept them though, we have a chance at being free to explore, dig deeper and find out how they can giv...

THE LONG WAY ROUND

Image
Photo by Flis Zucchi “Sometimes taking time is actually a short cut.”  - Haruki Murakami As a surfer just starting out, you may want to go straight for a shortboard surfboard because it looks more appealing and cool, but then when you try to catch the waves things quickly shift. Taking time to really get to grips with technique and your environment are the ultimate game changers. Fundamentals such as waxing your board before starting, checking the weather conditions, checking your board and equipment, mastering paddling out, pop up technique, are things that aren’t worth cutting corners to speed up getting into the water. Proper training, frequency, support and fitness levels all form part of a good preparation that is essential to safety and a long-term future doing what you enjoy.  Looking back over all the videos, articles in different languages for Findmyflis and the street photography for Photomyway Photography, and now with the newly created YouTube channel and so...
